Chargeable weight calculations
Chargeable weight for different modes of transportation can be
calculated as follows:
Land Transport
1 cbm = 333 kg
1 loading metre = 1850 kg
1 EUR PLL = 740 kg
1 EUR PLL = 0,4 loading metre
1 FIN PLL = 1000 kg
1 FIN PLL = 0,5 loading metre
Air Freight
1 cbm = ~167 kg
The chargeable weight of a cargo intended for air shipment is the actual gross weight (gw) or the volume weight (vw), whichever is greater. The vw is calculated based on a cargo’s size, measurement or dimensions, and with the use of the following formula: Using the Metric System: L x W x H in centimetres (cm.) / 6,000 = vw (in kgs)
Sea Freight (LCL)
1 cbm = 1000 kg
The chargeable weight of a cargo intended for sea shipment is the actual gross
weight (gw) or the volume weight (vw), whichever is greater.
